The way in the name Jesus

Posted by Pelgrim on 22nd June 2006

Jesus is a translation of the Hebrew name Yeshua or its longer version Yehoshua.

In Jewish mysticism the Hebrew letters have a mystical significance:
The name of Jesus in Hebrew would be Yeshua, hebrew letters Ayin - Vav - Shin - Yud

Yud = the infinite point

Shin = the eternal flame

Vav = connection

Ayin = divine providence

Experience Apollo 14 astronaut Edgar Mitchell

Posted by Pelgrim on 22nd June 2006

From the http://www.noetic.org/ website:
Traveling back to Earth, having just walked on the moon, Apollo 14 astronaut Edgar Mitchell had an experience for which nothing in his life had prepared him. As he approached the planet we know as home, he was filled with an inner conviction as certain as any mathematical equation he’d ever solved. He knew that the beautiful blue world to which he was returning is part of a living system, harmonious and whole—and that we all participate, as he expressed it later, “in a universe of consciousness.”

It was the trip home that Mitchell recalls most. Sitting in the cramped cabin of the space capsule, he saw planet Earth floating freely in the vastness of space. He was engulfed by a profound sense of universal connectedness—an epiphany. In Mitchell’s own words: “The presence of divinity became almost palpable, and I knew that life in the universe was not just an accident based on random processes. . . . The knowledge came to me directly.”

I had the same experience after studying the sayings from The Gospel of Thomas compared to the New Testament.
What strikes me is also our difference, we both learned that “the universe was not just an accident based on random processes”, judging from the Noetic website he choose to research what is to learn about our consciousness, I choose to remain focused on the giver of this gift, the Creator. This is not meant judgemental, just my observation. There are many ways of thanking the giver.

I’ve tried many times explaining my experience and everytime words fall short as it is not something what can be communicated.
I can’t say when and where it happened as it was a process which had several fases and stages. The experience of all-in-all is still remembered by me visually as I’m a visually orientated person. What I took for true (literal translation of the verb to observe in my language) was like a photograph which had been taken with a coloured filter. This filter was yellow and had flares of orange and was over my normal image. It was not just a colour as it had substance, it was life itself and I was part of that. The feeling of the experience was a feeling of unity and connectedness of everything in a sea of love. It was a connectedness of everything as in the received prayer “we life in God, God lives in us”. To be honest I could no longer distinguish the individual, the inside from the outside world. I lost myself as a raindrop falling in an ocean. Maybe If I had been longer in this stage I might have been able to judge the more subtle details of where what connected with something else, maybe not.

I can understand the Muslim mystic Al-Hallaj who has been prosecuted for proclaiming in this state “Ana al-Haqq”, meaning “I am the Truth”, one of the ninety nine names of Allah. Al-Hallaj died on March 26, 922.

To me the after effects were like as if I was brought down slowly awakening in a clean state.

I truly wish I would be able to give you this gift, but the truth is, you need to search it to find, and ask to receive.
